(To be updated. Note that the UI in photo example may be different because it was before game update. But the concept is the same.)

As you are probably aware, Fate of The Empress has a new feature added called Constellation. Let's do some learnin’ about the basics and figure out how to set up our constellations for success.

So first, let’s break down what the feature is:

I. Nodes

The first thing you’ll notice is a bunch of circles with pictures in them. We are going to refer to them as nodes from here on out. Since they’re basically the only thing on this page, assume they’re the most important part of the constellations. You level up the nodes for stat increases and eventual skill increases (ultimately moving towards a new rage skill).

Nodes are split into four types, of varying power (and cost):

  • Delta - The main nodes. There are 18 of these nodes, and they go up to level 6 each. Smallest bonus, but required to unlock some of the stronger stuff. They only use the basic material, so are easy to level up.

  • Gamma - One step above Delta, Gamma nodes go up to level 8 and increase stats further than Delta can. There are three of these guys and they require Starstone past level 3.

  • Beta - Powerful nodes that require a certain number of Delta nodes to be unlocked. They will modify one of your character’s abilities, generally just increasing damage from what I’ve seen. There are three of these nodes and go up to level 10. So far, as of the writing of this guide, you can only get these guys to level 3, due to the epic mat Starstone being required and suspiciously missing from anywhere in the game.

  • Alpha - The big boy. You have one of these. It goes up to level 10. But it also gives you a new rage skill for your main character. This rage skill is extremely powerful. It basically is like giving your character their own Fabled Skin. This is the end goal of constellation. The rage skill is far superior to whatever weak raggedy skill you’ve got equipped now.

II. Branches

Your constellation is split into three branches. They are mostly similar except for the skill they improve and the Gamma stat. The skinny here (and why these are good to know about) is that certain nodes can only be unlocked if you’ve gotten a certain number of nodes unlocked/upgraded. This basically just means that if you want one node, like really super bad, man, you may have to focus on one branch first.

But, as I’ll explain later, it doesn’t really matter at the moment. This section will be expanded as it starts mattering, but really, there’s no reason to stack onto one branch.

III. What to Unlock

So once you get yourself some Starlights and this shiny new thing to put it all into, how do you go about doing it?

So far testing has shown that you should unlock each star first. Up to level 3 the might boost from unlocking more stars vs pouring light into some Delta nodes to +6. This might be the case further but we can’t tell without more mats.

Here’s my constellations two different ways:

(Not evening out my nodes. Might boost is 49,282)

(Evening out my nodes. Might boost is 63,774)

Pretty big might difference, eh?

IV. Raaaaaage Skills

So once your Alpha node has been unlocked, you obtain a new rage skill. These are the requirements for unlocking the alpha node:

That’s

  • 80 levels worth of stars

  • All Beta skills at level 6

However, once you meet these conditions, you get access to the rage skill. Let’s take a look at these things:

IV.a Guard Rage Skill (Sunset Smile)

This rage skill is absolutely insane. The damage modifier is crazy. The on-death trigger is amazing, the everything is amazing. Compare this rage skill to Prince Gao’s, which it seems modeled after: His rage only does 85% of ATK. That is huge, considering you’re hitting 5 times.

IV.b Scholar (Drizzling Rain)

Deals massive damage, increases own CRIT, and turns DMG into a shield. Very powerful skill. MC Scholar hits seriously hard as it is, but with added survivability of the shield you can afford to tune them even more offensively.

IV.c Doctor (Silver Light)

This rage was already strong, but now it also dispels buffs. It seems small, but dispelling buffs before doing a stun removes control blocking buffs. It makes the stun nearly unblockable.

IV.d Gourmet (Switch Card)

*Just kidding, this is a good skill. Need to get the screenshot of it, though.
