Fate of The Empress Guide: Hero Tier List - Ying Zheng - SSS

Ok so this will be a series of reviews on heroes in Fate of The Empress made by Jiodi. I (Linkai) will occasionally put my personal opinions into as well if I have a different thought. Please just take this as a suggestion when choosing heroes for your team.

"Which doctor should I choose?" is a very common question and I choose to write about Ying Zheng first because with the new update, F2P players can get him easily in Biography, which is a piece of great news because he's a very useful doctor. So how useful is he? Let's read this review.

  • Tier: SSS

  • Class: Doctor

  • Quality: UR

  • Role: Support

  • Gem/Stat Priority: acc > agi > atk/crit/dmg res/dmg+/eva/res/def/hp

    • Being a low-investment potential hero, you can pretty much wait to gem him. Give him some acc gems for now and maybe get him a little faster as you get better gems, but really, he’s there for his passive.

  • Pets: Vixen, Reindeer, Naughty Ginger Cat, Tough Raccoon, Naughty Piggy, Tough Chinchilla

  • Skills:

  • Review:

(Jiodi) Ying Zheng often gets overlooked as a top-tier talent. Part of it, I think, is his mistranslated passive skill and a debuff that seems..mediocre at best on his active skill. But guess what!? He’s actually extremely powerful! His rage skills says that ‘at the beginning of battle, grant rage to up to three party members’. This is Ji Kang on steroids. It’s absolutely insane. He is another extremely high-value-low-investment character like Wu Zetian. His active skill is also underestimated. Crits are very powerful, reducing crit is free res to your whole team. He can also steal rage with his rage - which itself is really, really good. He is a tricky character to use correctly, but when he is, he fits the role perfectly.

(Linkai) Ok. Jiodi's review may sound a little bit complicated with many advanced terms, so let me rephrase what he said. Just like Wu Zetian, Ying Zheng's selling point is his passive skill "Have chance to add extra Rage for all allies at the beginning of battle". And since this is Passive skill, you don't really need to invest much on him to make it work, because the skill will still be in effect anyway. Having extra Rage at the beginning is like holding the trump card. If the Rage is added to any of your main Damage dealers like Libai, Zhao Zhan, Mozi, Helan Ci, Fu Yunqi, you can just swipe the enemy team at the early game. He also can support the 2nd Doctor very well if you have enough ACC to invest one more, Daji or Guiguzi. His extra Rage will make Daji or Guiguzi's Rage skills work even more effectively. If you use him with another Doctor, he can play as slow doc.
